better use DXF file when doing analysis with beam/truss element, just use LINE command in CAD programs.
in MW you can assign section element then changing the properties to truss from icon menus.
afaik, elastic contact is nonlinear case too but less complicated than body contact w/o friction.
okey - I'll stuck with rigid contact for preliminary analysis, still usable to quick study behavior of contact conditions.
nicely Dhondt has Civil Engineering backgrounds, he provides very useful command to build an arbitrary section for straight (B31) or curved (B32) beams. these methods more like 1D fiber beam element in other FE software. i'm being study and compare …
hi,
there's great and extensive tutorial wrote by my former dean faculty Dr. Waluyo, even using previous version of LISA-FET still usable as references.
you can found composite example starting from pages 109, links of document:

hi Victor,
I read again about documentation, look SAP has a problem too in computing transverse shear forces. the documentation shown inconsistent, in the next page it says computed from moment equilibrium and not from the stress.
attached p…
thank you Victor for explanation,
I reproduce the problem, take simple test and the result of transverse shear forces shown too high discrepancy for both linear & quadratic shell element with point and pressure load case.
bellows are pic…
from derivative I reinstall LISA-FET and take compare. look it has been removed, can you kindly give an information for such situation, may something not working good or else?
regards,
hi Sergio,
MecWay has supported GMSH file format, it can be open/import directly so you can get full quad mesh of your plate/shell model and then extruded to create hexahedral mesh if you want to use solid element.
attached pictures of my be…
hi,
I have minor suggestion regarding default units saved by MW, and I agree with Andrea due to fact most FE analysis are for micro models in dimension not for large/macro models - default small dimension units e.g mm-MPa are best suit for this …
hi,
version 2.10 from bConverged has been publish by Jeff B., but only for 64bit. i'm still wait for my 32bit OS and i hope for his kindliness to build and provides.

greetings,
hi Kwip,
thank you for kindly build and provide CCX 2.10 for 32bit Windows. i has been tested for simple case and seem working properly using command prompt.
but still has issue when integrated with Mecway, error message shown it can not produce …
hi Sergio,
the same error messages happen with me, when i run CCX version 2.9 (32bit) build by Prool
hi Kwip,
can you kindly provide CCX executable files for 32 bit? i need a try
thx Victor for feedback,
i have little bit confused with inp files created by MECWAY, there's also has another file with *.copy names.
when i open up directly using CCX Graphics for frd files you mention, unexpected results same as displayed with …
very impressive when MECWAY are integrated with CCX as external solver, even not fully.
i try quick test for simple case, seem not working properly in reading *.frd results. i don't know where the trouble comes, is this my pc & installation pro…
hi Victor,
i have another minor suggestion:
MECWAY already has great feature in elastic spring support and compression only support, it will be useful if result reactions are also displayed in stress contour for contact representation. this can be…
exciting news, when i hear MECWAY next will full integrated and can be use CalculiX as a solver.
ups, i forget. thank for correcting me. in MECWAY "frictionless support" works as rolled, node dof's translation in perpendicular face support are res…
hi VMH,
about contact between parts, i seeing this problem from many others FE software document. many developer says this problem's harder to solve than plasticity, due to convergences of contact springs force especially in quadratic element. MECW…
hi Apadzak,
i would like to say sorry, may i has been chose inappropriate words to explains my opinion. please don't take seriously, english is not my mother languages.
back to topic,
for ParaView of course yes unquestionable since it's dedicate…
hi Apadzak, thanks for feedback and opinions.
yes, result values are very important. MECWAY has already best in result and displaying color display and only my suggestion to be better. as i say before i'm not talking about capabilities, why do you …
hi Victor. thanks for feedback,
as can be seen from my previous screenshot, change visibility did not work for me except it's a disable before perform running.
talk about color contour ranges, attached a comparison:
MECWAY has 20 colour ranges, pr…
VMH, sorry for my reply were is not the same models.
yes surface model doesn't have thickness so boundary support can not be created during geometry session. it's all about group of surface mesh not face of thickness.
previously i just give a sugg…
hi VMH,
i just have some suggestion regarding to select group of surface. MECWAY have capabilities to grouping automatically in "Geometry" sessions when you work with imported *.stp/*.igs files.
later, you can assign properties or delete if it's …
hi VMH,
first i didn't know if specific CAD discussion is appropriate here, since MECWAY only linked with STEP/IGES were it's standard format and it can be produce by many CAD programs.
parametric programming in CAD means: all object dependencies …
hi, i have some minor suggestion.
additional units for:
- Pressures as kip/inch^2 (ksi)
- Force as kip
- Torque and moment as kN*m and kip*ft
graphics display per component in result.
- currently only works when this component are set to not vis…
yes, the result are not the same. plate moving out of plane. i don't know what's a problem with my pc.
in my work using other FE software this additional restraint at some nodal required for numerical stability purpose (e.g. plate rested on spring …
thank you for explanation in your videos.
yes, i forget to merge nodes create by mirror commands.
try to following you in setting converge as 0.001 the problem solved.
but result expectation not the same as you shown in video.
the deformation sho…
thanks you Victor for explanations and implemented it.
may you wish to give additional information in documentation and provide some examples how to use MPC since it's essential in FEA modeling.
