Problems with cyclic symmetry in a tank analysis

Hello everyone!

I'm facing some problems when trying to use cyclic symmetry in a tank analysis.

I have to check a tank for hydrostatic pressure and dead load of componentes, but couldn't figure out how to use cyclic simmetry. I tried remesh with several different parameters, tried using gmesh, importing meshs from other softwares but always end up in the same spot: "Incompatible constraints on nodes xxx".

The boundary conditions are simple: fixed bottom plate and hidrostatic pressure inside tank.

Model was made in solidworks using surfaces, imported into Prepomax to create an unique body step file and then imported into mecway.

Problematic nodes: nothing special about them (as far as i can see)

Both master and slave surfaces have exactly same number os faces = 352.

I attached the mecway file if anyone try to help me.
Thanks in advance,

Rafael

Looks like there is an error on the file, can you check and upload again?
  • Sorry Sergio. Here is the correct file
  • Could it be that your model is an 80° slice?
  • Ohh, ive corrected that in a previous version, let me find it and attach here soon as possible. Sorry
  • Here is the correct file, again (rsrs)

I also attached the step file that i used
  • For the cyclic simmetry using the internal solver the node lay out must match exactly between the two faces, I have created a rotated copy of the model (60°), and found nodes that doesn´t match, so that could be the problem. I recomend you to cut the model in half, then mesh and mirror the mesh, so this would lead to a perfect match nodes in the faces. Don´t forget to stich the nodes at the middle.
  • Maybe Delete Unused Nodes first to clear your picture? Visible nodes 138k reduced down to 22k.
