Related to @dculp comment, what about a way to save the state of the view (model orientation, scales, deformation, etc etc)? I recognize that reporting is a time consuming task that could be benefited. Another related improvement would be a way to s…
Hi, @Sebastianmaklary , what I do to surpass this uncertainty is expor the faces that will be in contact were I has to appy TIE, so ones will be upper and other lower sides of the sheet. Then you can play with the shell offset to take in count this.…
Hi community, my new suggestion to this useful program:
• Posibility to hide/unhide individual boundary conditions
• Option to open the files with all the branches of the tree colapsed (could be in the Options/Default model)
• Store the solver log …
Based on the code of @JohnM:
Info window with diameter, radius and center of a circle by 3 points (just info, no node creation)
@Victor, is there a way to know which length units the user is using? I have hardcoded the results in mm, but would be …
I agree with @ddraht , since we lost the visual representation of the bonded contact take more time to find out every pair of contact in case that they are several. Also for the node/surface/element selector, could it be moved to the menu area, but …
Mecway has very good UNDO option, it remember an unnusual lot of big changes on the model. Also you could do intermediates saves with different name of the model.
Nice update Victor!
Related to @Sebastianmaklary comment, would be nice to have the option so choose the solver (Spooles, Pardiso, Pastix...) when the user select CalculiX as solver, and in the Options windows a place to specify the number of cores…
That´s amaizing @disla ! I remember have seen a FEA model of a roller coaster with the buggy moving all around, does this kind of modelation in Mecway/CCX take in count inertial loads due to speed of movement?
Thanks @JohnM ! I'm working with the internal solver so this is not a problem, but is good to know also for CCX. That "Modify Keyword" feature is very interesting :-)
thanks! @prop_design
Now I realize that this exact mesh can be done directly in Mecway meshing with surface elements (with the option to use quads), and then revolving to get the hexas.
I would start with a mesh generated by Netgen standard inside Mecway (taking in count the size of the elements to have at least three in the main thikness), so then the mesh and BC can be associated to the imported CAD geometry. If standard Netgen d…
You could open your CCX results (.frd extension) with FreeCAD, and then export as STL, even in deformated state. Now I don´t remember well if is FreeCAD, Salome or Paraview, but is possible, I have even 3d printed with stress colors a deformated mod…
@LorenzoS, the first thing that you must understand is that not always the finished CAD model, with all the small details is the best for FEA, there are a lot of features that will complicate your mesh innecesary that will not affect the results. Al…
Hi, this would be my workflow, normally I would choose the hexa or axissimetric mesh for solving this vessel. For some reason I cannot post images here since a week or two, have uploaded to imgur

Hi, welcome to the forum. About your questions:
1) For modeling use the best CAD available. At work I have Solidedge, at home Alibre Atom, and sometimes as last resource FreeCAD (for split faces on parts made with Alibre, as it doesn't have a speci…
Very very nice model... a last trick. In order to better/quick convergence all the loads are applied as displacements and not forces, and, a RIGID BODY is created between the movil side (inner sleeve faces in this case) and a node in the center of t…
@disla, the procedure for simulation is the normal for a silent block or any part that is molded with plastic or metal sleeves or inserts, due to the big difference in thermal restriction of rubber and those other materials. About the press fit, the…
Woooow, nice example @disla, but there is a mistake. The order of the loads must be:
1) Cool down the part from mold to room temperature (so the temperature and restrain is a lot more). The rubber will get streched in this kind of assembly as in yo…
If is only for compute the stiffness or stress in the part, for a cylindrical bush the inner/outer sleeves are not needed for the simulation (unles they get in contact with the rubber or have some special shape). The press fit can be modeled using a…
Some pictures and animations of a very simple bush:

Be carefull in case you include the outer/iner rings, as CCX will promediate the stress between rubber and met…
