Is a normal behaviour. What you can do is first select all the nodes as you say, and then change the selector to elements. Or select the elements directly by the components name on the tree.

Tom, what you can do in Mecway is after meshing, scale the mesh (so, if you have created bc, loads, named selections... it will be keeped). Can you attach directly the .liml file? I will have a little of time to see it during the night.
twilliams55, you can export directly as step in Solidworks, and then Mecway should be able to import it with the right size. Anyway if you don't want to recreate the model, you can scale the mesh to the right size in Mecway directly.

Sebastien, if you are using CCX as solver, there is a card called RIGID BODY that you can use for link a set of nodes to a master node, but is not implemented in the Mecway GUI yet, you must include using custom CCX data
As far as I remember, Mecway only allow for one body in each step file. You mention that only open one part, so is a normal behaviour for Mecway. Try to export only one part for step file.
