Thanks @KundertdeWit , have tested with an hyperelastic model and found that if the solver didn´t reach the full specified load/displacement, it doesn´t save the incomplete results.
@Sofien, the new external script to run Code_Aster from Mecway is very usefull and easy to use, but as you say, would be better if it would be integrated natively in the GUI.
@KundertdeWit , I has tested the new release and it works very well, and run the modal analysis and found exactly the same results as Mecway. For some reason in the Code_Aster results the displacement/magnitud is not computed
I have added some is…
@Fatmac , I just remove the CCX custom card and apply the restrain to the defined face group (it was applied to the same faces but selected directly) and then works ok.
Amazing, will try to test it during this wekeend. These days the developers with the help of IAs has bring us several new tools for the FEA enthusiasts! Look for FEMaster, CCXView, and now MecwayAsterBrige!
HI @Victor I´m just testing the multiple selection in the tree, and found that I can select several items in the tree, but in the viewport only the last one keeps in the selection (blue)
Did you try to import to FreeCAD or other CAD and see what happen? OPEN CAD STUDIO is a very new project and things can be a little raw for the moment.
For the cyclic simmetry using the internal solver the node lay out must match exactly between the two faces, I have created a rotated copy of the model (60°), and found nodes that doesn´t match, so that could be the problem. I recomend you to cut th…
Can you upload the step model maybe? I have tried with a similar assembly imported in step format to Gmsh, mesh with default settings (only size adjusting) just pressing the Mesh 3D button and saving the mesh, and was imported in Mecway as tets (sep…
As a beam model is a simplification of 3D structure, I would just create 2D elements between the center nodes of the hollow beams, all with coincident nodes. If I need to get more accurate stresses would replace with shell elements the hollow beams.
@Victor, I have run the model (and others from mine) from @JohnM , with bolt pretension based on force and equivalent displacement, but the final displacement in the deformed zone doesn´t agree with the defined value, is there a way to make it agree…
Hi Victor, would be great if the postprocessor view show the solver and version used, now that there is Mecway/CalculiX/OpenRadioss/Mystran available that could be a usefull information.
You could mesh your part using estructured hexa elements, in that way you can put for example two elements in flange thickness of the beams. Otherwise you can use shell or beams elements.
Check this two examples

Another tip is create an empty file with the common materials used in your simulations and use as template, most of the industries works with few basic materials, and for static or modal análisis all steels/aluminium/casts are the same.
Just use slide/open contact between the two bolted plates, and bonded/tie between bolt/nut head and plates. Otherwise will take a lot to solve, if it works.
Change your analysis type to static 3d, unsuppress the frictionless suports, add a thermal stress bc, in the solution branch request displacements, stresses and reactions forces and solve again. Could you please upload/share the beam model and the r…
Hi Victor, thnks for this update. I have installed and there are some visual glitch in the pretension bc. I have applied in several horizontal bolts, and they are represented in the center position (paralell to X), but for the vertical ones (Z direc…
Hi @polymathic I have tried to mesh your part in Salome, and looks like the surfaces have some errors, such as the edges of some faces are not shared or coincidents with the adjacents, very different to what I see when I model with standard CAD tool…
Thanks! I tried installing Mystran with the 29 version and didn´t work, results were not imported, will try again now. In which cases Mystran would be better than Internal, CCX or OpenRadioss solver? The only thing that came to my mind from my days …
