MUMPS OpenRadioss/Courant solver for static analysis

Hi Guys

It is still in the infant stages, but I have compiled the Radioss/Courant solver to include in MUMPS which allows for the use of a linear and nonlinear static solutions.

Mecway is used for the modelling and development of the .rad file which is then used to generate the solution externally. It seems to work really well so far. One of the biggest draw backs is that for relative force conergence it seems that theformulation used for the stiffness matrix is not the same as the one for internal force calculation which makes it difficult to converge.

If anyone is keen on beta testing or playing around with it, please pop me a PM with your email address and I will share the exe files via google drive.

  • Sounds interesting but what is MUMPS?

I like the prospect of being able to do a linear analysis to check the setup before doing a nonlinear analysis but as that currently requires switching between solvers, then it would be nice to have the option of static analysis in Radioss/Courant so I don't have to change much to account for the specifics of each solver.
