Constraining circumferentially with polar coordinates

Hello, I want to constrain an axial turbomachine about the engine axis as well as circumferentially, and leave it free radially. However, the only place I see I can constrain a face by an axis is in the "displacement" constraint. However, this is only in cartesian coordinates, and this use case needs polar coordinates. Does anyone have a work around for this?

Thanks!

  • You can enter formulas in the direction vector components. Use y and -x for the X and Y components respectively to constraint in the circumferential direction about Z. Use a separate displacement constraint for the axial displacement.

  • Thank you!!
  • Does that only constrain it in one direction or both?
  • One. A displacement constraint always constrains in only one direction per node.
