Using composite shells in Open Radios

I'm really enjoying playing around with the OR solver. One aspect (among several others I'm afraid!) that I have not got to grips with is using composite shells. If any one can point me in the right direction here I'd be very pleased. I think it will required some form of custom model definition to change the shell property definition to some form of composite shell definition like /PROP/TYPE9 (SH_ORTH). When i try and run the attached file i get the following error
ERROR ID : 1052
** ERROR IN PROPERTY SET
DESCRIPTION :
-- PROPERTY ID: 1
-- PROPERTY TITLE: Default shell
-- MATERIAL ID: 1
ISOTROPIC SHELL USING ORTHOTROPIC LAW
.. ELEMENT BUFFER INITIALIZATION

ERROR ID : 3047
** ERROR IN MATERIAL/PROPERTY COMPATIBILITY
.. GEOMETRY PLOT FILE

  • I think you forgot to attach the file. Not that I have yet tried used composite shells in Radioss, so I don't know if I can locate the error, but it will be easier to help if the file is attached. :)
  • I don't think there's a convenient way to change the /PROP/SHELL to /PROP/SH_ORTH other than re-entering all the elements and linking them to the new /PROP with a new /PART keyword.
  • Thank you for getting back on this -and yes I did miss attaching the simple file, I've tired to this time. What I was hoping is that I could use the ID generated in the input file are redefine it in some sort of custom model definition input.
In the input file generated for this simple example I see the following lines of text - I was hoping to some how use this block and redefine as a SH_ORTH

    /PART/1
    Default shell
    1 1
    /PROP/SHELL/1
    Default shell
    24 2 2

    5 0.007 1 1
    /SHELL/1
    1 9 21 25 11
    2 21 6 23 25
    3 25 23 3 24
    4 11 25 24 7
    5 8 10 14 13
    6 10
