How to inquire - number of nodes and elements

After meshing, how can I find the number of nodes and elements that have been created?

    One simple way is to look in the tree at the component created. Also, there is a running tab at the bottom, with the third entry being whatever is currently selected:

    It seems the first 2 fields give the total for all components. Is there a way to find the number of nodes for an individual component?

    Click on part in tree, that selects elements.
    Click the node icon at the top of the view port, that selects the nodes attached to those elements - the selected nodes will be shown at bottom
