Skid analysis using Hexa vs Beam elements

Hi, this is another example (real work) showing an skid being analyzed, first using CCX with hexa elements (long and tedius work), and as the first result was not enough good, have recreated the model using Mecway beams in order to be able to play with the profiles and choose the right one easily

Weights were not exactly the same, but is enough for the comparation



Have imported both models in a third empty one in order to check dimentions and positions of members


After solving, displacement results (9.48 vs 9.35mm) and shape have well agreement




After that I was able to change easily the profiles, and for the stress analysis will use a new hexa mesh model.

    Victor, by the way, is possible to add the display of the edges of the beams elements in a future release???

    Probably not, at least not soon because of priorities. Though I agree it would be helpful.
