Mesh Quality Verification

I am looking for a method to validate my mesh quality (specifically a distribution of the aspect ratios of elements). Has anybody found a method for extracting this information?

if you mesh in netgen directly, there is an option to view a quality plot. that is the closest i have come to finding a solution to this. but in mecway, i don't know of any way to output mesh metrics.
