New element tool

In some analysis types, New element tool has some element types "greyed" because they can not be used with the analysis type, but if one click on one of this "incompatible" element type and then clicks several nodes, it creates elements the "incompatible" type.
Is that a bug, or those elements may be useful for something?

    That's intentional. An example of a use is line3 elements revolved to form a quad8 cylinder. Or a tri3 shell is easier to create manually than tri6 and can be converted later.
