Rectangular Plate with External Stiffener Take #2

I have redone my model and it is not lining up with my Roark calculations. Any suggestions? The stiffener channel does not seem to be having any effect on the deflection of the plate.

    The web and flanges of the stiffener are only connected together at a few discrete points instead of continuously. This is partly because the meshes aren't compatible. You can see the gaps with View -> Open cracks. Refine most of the web elements in the longitudinal direction and merge them with Mesh tools -> Merge nearby nodes.

    Be careful with Refine custom because it causes incompatibilities like these with the adjacent elements. Refine x2 handles that OK with transition meshes like exist at the corners of the web.
