selecting hidden faces

I'm new to Mecway and am trying to select certain surfaces to set up bonded contacts... how can I select surfaces that are behind other surfaces? It is impossible to rotate the model in any way to readily select the surface I need to pick.

Also if I have an assembly and I go to setup a bonded contact between two parts in which the surfaces are already physically touching... I select the surface of the one part and go to new bonded contact and the window that comes up already has master and slave surfaces selected.... did it automatically see the touching surfaces and select them? how can I visually see what it selected?

  • The cutting plane slider (see attached picture) hides foreground parts.

If the assembly has different components, it can be easier to hide a component instead. Right click its name in the outline tree and then Hide.

Bonded contact isn't automatically finding the other surface, unfortunately. It just fills in both master and slave with the same selected faces because it doesn't know which one you want it to be. I suppose it would make more sense if it just filled in one and left the other empty.

You can see what's selected by expanding the bonded contact item in the outline tree and clicking the face selections under it.

Any chance you could add a numeric input box associated to the slider so that we can make note of the position for reuse
