Tie Contact Failed :Shell Element

I am doing 3D nonlinear analysis with shell and tet10 elements.
After applying bonded contact for 2 bodies(which are meshed with shell elements) it shows warning.
warning says to tie them.
After tie applied again warning shows only 3D solids allowed.
Below attached images shows respective errors.

But still I ran the simulation ignoring the error and in ccx output console it shows a large magnitude of Residual Force.
Does this mean Bonded Contact didn't apply. Is there any workarounds this problem

*TIE with shells sometimes causes wrong results which might be obvious or not, so it's best to never use that.

It looks like you're using version 8. In version 9, there's a new option, Elastic, which has more compatibility with shells and works in nonlinear CCX. Here's a table from the manual showing what each option supports:
