Hey, There is a project where I have to find reaction moments at fixed node points. I magine a trailing tilting up due to hydraulic force and its fixed at the other end (Static Non Linear). So how do I extract the moment? Thanks in Advance
In CCX you can use the card NODE PRINT and ask for the RF (reaction forces) on the node (must be a node set). CCX will write reaction forces and reaction moments in a separated text file (extension .dat). Read the CCX documentation about that card.
Though Sergio's idea is probably easiest, an alternative which works with either solver is to create a New formula under Solution to convert reaction forces into moments, then use Tools -> Sum to sum them over the constrained nodes. Here's an example with a 3 N force on a moment arm of 1 m that shows the reaction moment of -3 Nm.
For CCX, use external force instead of reaction force.
