Batch mode like operation and linear elastic vs hyperelastic models

I want to change, say, a force constraint in a static 3D simulation. How can I do that in a batch-like manner? Sorry, this may be an old question and answered.

If deformation of a hyperelastic material is less than 5 ~ 10 %, is it necessary to use hyperelastic modes?

Thank you!

  • Mecway doesn't have an API but you can edit the .liml file with a text editor or batch text or XML editing tools. Search for the numerical value of the force you want to change.

I don't know about the hyperelastic question. I hope someone like Sergio who's experienced with rubber can step in. At 5% deformation, you should at least use nonlinear analysis because of geometric nonlinearities.

  • I never did such comparation (lineal vs hyperelastic behavieur), but guess that with the right Young Modules and Poisson coefficient at low deformation deformations should similar. I will try tonigh with a sample to see the differences.
