I thinks you not seeing stresses because you have used a general section geometry were you have provided second moment of area section, this enables calculation of deflection and forces only. To calculated the stress value you need to define the distance from the neutral axis at which you want to know the stress. for example using the general stress equation of f/y = M/I
I believe this is what the stress recovery values are for with general sections. If the section is a standard shape the stresses at the section extremes are automatically calculated since the geometry is already known. Use of stress recovery values is only required for these if you want to know the stress at a certain distance from the neutral axis.
