What are acceptable Nonlinear Settings for Centrifugal Force

I attached the settings and BCs for a test I ran. I was wondering if the nonlinear analysis settings are acceptable. I don't do much nonlinear analysis so I just want to make sure these are ok.

  • These are the settings that I use normally for nonlineal on CCX. One of the problems that I have is that the results files can grow to 500-800 Mb easily.
  • I wouldn't set any convergence tolerance. The default (if you leave it blank or 0) is almost at machine precision so it's pretty much always going to be correct. Setting anything else is just to speed up convergence or get it to converge if it doesn't otherwise. Even then, there are usually other ways to solve those problems without sacrificing accuracy.
  • thanks victor,

in the future i will do that. i just finished up the screencasts and they are uploading now. for the example I ran there was pretty much no difference between linear or nonlinear. it would have been better if I used zero though.
  • Just to be safe I ran the model with the tolerance set to zero. The displacement error was the controlling factor. The results were identical to how I ran the models in the screencasts.
