Changes:

CCX
Multiple time-dependent constraints can be on the same node if they’re axis-aligned.
Initial velocity for Nonlinear dynamic response 3D
Displacement initial conditions with some directions undefined now sets the orthogonal direction(s) to zero instead of axis-aligned direction(s).

OpenRadioss
Loads and constraints: Displacement, Node rotation, Frictionless support, Symmetry, Fixed support, Force, Moment, Velocity, Pressure (uniform)
Initial conditions: Velocity
Node/element solution variables: beam forces and moments, element time step, reaction force, reaction moment, von Mises for solids
Global solution variables: internal energy, kinetic energy, time step
Node averaged values for element variables
Uses recommended parameters for /PROP/SHELL
Uses Anim and .thy files for output instead of the obsolete .sty files.
Can read an orphaned solution or one containing nodes and elements defined in custom model definition, including non-sequential node and element numbering. Gaps in node numbering create extra nodes at the origin.

Alibre Design/Atom3D
Simplified setup
Compatible with other versions besides 28.0.0. Tested on 26, 27, 28.0.2

Other
Contact state moved from Displacement and velocity submenu to Mechanical misc.
Deprecated Incompatible hex8 elements being turned off

Bug fixes
Interpolate tool showed “No value” covering the value if it initially had no value.
System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException when clicking on a mode after deleting all its solution variables
Tools for surface area on shell edges and volume on shell elements wouldn't work when the solver was set to CCX.
Bug 45. External force on shell nodes with rotational constraints and elastic contact. Now shows a warning.

Comments

  • The integration with OpenRadioss looks amazing, same for Alibre Desing. I think that Alibre + Mecway is the ideal setup for freelancers engineers/analyst.

I can't wait to have a moment to try out all these new tools!
