Find duplicate items. Unidirectional tows to form a lattice

Good morning ,

What is the selection criteria of the tool, "find duplicate items".
I am looking for a simple way to create unidirectional tows to form a lattice.

The idea is to overlap the structures so that I can later remove the duplicate elements but I don't understand which elements does the tool select.
Are the duplicated elements the last ones created, are they all, are they those of the first component in the list?
I have hide some components but the tool is selecting duplicated elements on hidden components. It shouldn't ¿isn't it?

Which element it chooses isn't defined, sorry. It might be highest or lowest element numbers but might change in future.

I do have to sort out that selecting hidden elements problem though.
