Is it possible to have a truss element where you are able to alter the strain of the element in accordance with time? the ultimate goal would be to simulate a hydraulic system.
CCX can do that with *PRE-TENSION SECTION applied to a beam element. The GUI in Mecway doesn't support that mode (beam element instead of section faces) so you have to write the card(s) yourself.
What about applying some pressure on the outer surface of the truss. (Time dependent pressure).? If you set up the truss material as incompressible the beam will not have other option that elongate or shorten to preserve the volume depending on the pressure sign. That would not provide the right stresses on the truss but if you just want to initiate some movement on other element in an equivalent direction ….. And what about heating or cooling the truss to make it expand or dilate.
