Connection Issue

I am having an issue with my bonded connections.
As seen in the cross section image, the plate on top has a stress being distributed due to a load but then stops when it is connected to the other component through a bonded connection.
It should be distributing through and I should see the bulb effect taking place.

Hello bailey_rowland. That should work as you expect. Can you attach the .liml file to check for problems?

    Some ideas:

Do the displacements match on the two parts? (use deformed view) If not, the bonded contact might somehow not be working at all.

Is the other mesh too coarse?

If the two parts are different materials, are their Young's moduluses both correct?

If they're connected by sharing nodes rather than bonded contact, use View -> Open cracks to see if they're really connected. If not, a gap will appear between them and you can use Merge nearby nodes to join them.
