RBE3 distributing coupling between Shell and Beam in Calculix

I have this very simple model 123 nodes, trying to connect 1D beam element to a surface of the 2D shell using a model card as per below for distributing couplings, however, nothing is happening. I have named the selected faces which are supposed to be connected to the beam reference nodes.

*COUPLING,CONSTRAINT NAME=BeamCoupling,REF NODE=12,SURFACE=Coupling_faces

*DISTRIBUTING

    I don't think a true RBE3 is possible in CCX. From what I understand, *DISTRIBUTING is just a kind of pre-processing step to convert point forces and moments applied directly to the reference node into forces (and moments?) on the surface nodes.

    CCX 2.23 manual says:
    "No kinematic relations are created between the reference node and the coupling surface, so applying displacement constraints in the reference node has no
    effect. In fact, the displacements at the reference node remain zero throughout the calculation."

    Thanks Victor for your response. Is there a way to connect a beam to the shell elements in the CXX effectively for non linear analysis.
