Mecway 30 is now available at the link below and includes the Spanish language manual translated by Germán Bresciano.
https://mecway.com/downloadOnly a few changes this time
- Formulas (without variables) allowed in inputs for most meshing tools, interpolate, and refinements for mesher.
- Shell offset can be defined in Loads & Constraints → Element offset as well as the existing Shell offset in Element properties.
- Flexible joint on beam (released DOFs) for Frequency and Dynamic response 3D analysis types with the internal solver.
- Self contact with a single face selection for unilateral contact with OpenRadioss and CCX.
- Option to omit generated keyword blocks for OpenRadioss. Called modify starter keyword.
- Mystran solver installed with Mecway. Imports solution from Mystran. All Nastran options renamed to Mystran.
- Bug fix for Split step assembly to allow MANIFOLD_SURFACE_SHAPE_REPRESENTATION.
- Bug fix for OpenRadioss. A blank custom model definition inserted a newline which corrupted the format of the file.
- Bug fix. Graphics disappeared after reconnecting via remote desktop (RDP).
Comments
I especially like the self-contact thing because then I can more easily suppress it for debugging than when it is in the custom model definition.
@Sergio Mystran isn't really better at anything than the internal solver, unless you prefer Nastran input deck format or manually add some features it has like CBUSH or full control over RBE2/3 parameters. It doesn't yet have inertia relief.
I'd like to see support for CSHEAR/PSHEAR cards. I want to use them for some aircraft internal loads models. I wrote about it here: https://mecway.com/forum/discussion/comment/8229/#Comment_8229
I looked at custom bulk data but that only works for small models as there are node numbers on each card and the modify bulk data entry only deletes cards at this time. Also tried ortho properties using shear modulus and very small extensional moduli but that didn't give the same results as shear elements.
Thanks, Ken
