Internal Solver. Beam, Offset

Hi,

In the manual I can see a composite beam in page 92.
The composed beam is made of an offset Chanel and two cover plates like the ones in the picture.
This circular crown is intended to receive some loads (beams seen on the left of the picture) which are not involved in the model right now.
When looking at the C Chanel element geometric properties I don’t see any change in the Moment of inertia when the C Chanel is offset. Second moment of inertia about V should be increasing if I’m not wrong. isn't?¿
Is that change managed internally?.
In that case, I would kindly request , if possible, that the element properties window would display the updated section properties.

Regards

  • The material properties don't include the offset. It shouldn't show that because it includes other changes that have no fields in there (eg. axial-bending coupling) and different elements with the same material can have different offsets.
