Changes

General
Comments (text notes) which also get written to external solver input files.
Copy meshing parameters to other geometry items.
Split STEP assembly also splits multi-body parts and non-assembly collections of parts.
Table allows you to set modes and time steps before solving.
Assign material dialog box accepts selection by double clicking it.
If the only solution variable in a mechanical analysis is temperature, it also generates all the default solution variables.
Automatic component colors exclude very dark colors.
Plate mesh tool's maximum allowed density increased from 20 to 64.
More helpful error messages for solution variables with no data.

CCX
CalculiX version updated to 2.22.
Initial velocity for linear Dynamic Response 3D.
Element orientation for Nonlinear Dynamic Response.
Refuses to load solution if there’s a zero coefficient in cascade *WARNING because it often indicates the solution is incorrect.
Buckling's accuracy parameter reduced from default (1e-2) to 1e-6.

OpenRadioss
Rayleigh damping.
Node-surface coupling (RBE2 and RBE3).
Rotational DOF output.
Tet10 faces can be used for contact. It converts them to 4 triangular segments.
Stress in element coordinates for shells.
Principal stress for solids and shells.
Bilinear plastic material for solids and shells.

Nastran
Export Nastran .bdf files with a subset of the features of the internal solver.

Removed
In-plane principal stress fully removed.
Incompatible mode hex8 cannot be turned off if it’s turned on. Being turned off is deprecated.

Various bug fixes.

    Hi Victor
The download link does not yet show version 29

    Edit: Now it does. :)
  • no probs on chrome this am
  • Great update. The "copy mesh parameter to.." is a nice feature, could be implemented something similar for material assigment?

Congratulation Victor for the new Version. !!!
  • @disla Yes, it's in ccx/ccx_win64_mkl_pardiso_source_2.22.zip in the installation directory.
  • What is "in ccx/ccx_win64_mkl_pardiso_source_2.22.zip in the installation directory"?
  • How is this "copy mesh parameter to.." ?
    I didn't find it.

Right click a geometry (STEP file or Alibre part) and it's in the context menu there.

CCX source is in that file in, for example, C:\Program Files\Mecway or wherever it was installed to.
  • Thanks, Victor!
    • Having Comments available is great! Handy [paperless] way to keep track of my assumptions when designing on the quick, but also a historical record..."Now, what was I trying to do back then?"
    • REALLY like the export to Nastran input deck. Mecway gets my vote for ease of model setup, and now the .bdf input provides a big head start for any Nastran job.
    • The comment ..."Incompatible mode hex8 cannot be turned off if it’s turned on. Being turned off is deprecated." Is this basically saying incompatible mode is now default and unchangeable?
  • @cwharpe yes, incompatible mode was already the default and now it's also unchangeable for new files but if you open an older file, it'll still be turned off to maintain the same legacy behavior. In future versions, I intend to remove the legacy formulation entirely.
  • Are there incompatible quad4 elements?
  • No sorry, not with the internal solver.
