  • I think some of the older versions support Win 32. Version 26 and later are definately win 64 only, maybe many of the versions earlier than that. Contact support@mecway.com. They can probably point you to a version, or even sell you one. Main reason is limited memory with win 32, but oldest versions of Mecway did not have very large minimum memory needs. Wish I had an old Win 32 machine. I have a lot of old software that needs it.
  • The last 32 bit version was 9.0, here:

You may first need to install the last 32 bit version with an installer (7.0) for dependencies:

  • Hello Victor, thank you for fast response.PC I was talking about does not have web connection. Are these files/installers enough for installation or web connection is necessary in installation time?Best Regards
  • I don't think it needs a web connection unless it needs to install the .Net Framework. I'm not sure about which version they need or what Windows 7 SP1 comes with but it's probably OK.
  • I believe you will need a thumb drive with at least 100 MB of free space, and use a friends internet connection to download the two files to the thumb drive. Then take this thumb drive to your Win 32 machine and run the Mecway70.msi installer then the Mecway90_32bit.cab. I believe the installs work from a thumb drive without a web connection for the free version.
  • OK,meny thanks for Your activity,Best Regards,Wjasiew
  • I think this works for the paid version as well. You e-mail payment info and Victor send a key code which you add into an activation under the help drop down. The free limits are good enough to get started, especially for a newby. I am not sure the 4GB memory limit on Win 32 allows very big problems, but it allows you to learn almost all the functions and get familiar with the user interface. A bigger problem is most of the current example problems are not set up to run on the oldest Mecway, probably especially those with non-linearity which uses Calculix for a solver. This user forum may be able to provide help for this.
  • Looking at some old threads It looks like the 4 GB memory limit may compute up to 100,000 nodes, but graphics of that vintage may be unusably slow at that size for a large size. I have run into this issue with very large systems (4000000) nodes using lots of memory (64GB+50GB virtual) with a very high end graphics card. Swiched to a lower capability card (1660TI) later, (fast by win 32 standards) to gain cuda capability.
