Displacement Calculating, Stresses not Calculating - "What's Wrong?" Gives No Indication

Hi! I've been working on a model for a few days in my free time, and everything has been going swimmingly. Today, however, I did SOMETHING, and have gotten the model into a weird state. The Solver runs just fine, and will give me displacements that look to make sense on the structure. However, my von Mises Stress is calculating as 0 (well, N/A in the tables). And, it comes up red in the Configuration pane. If I do a right click -> "What's Wrong?", it simply tells me: "Compatible with the analysis type and solver in the modeler - YES. Compatible with the analysis type and solver in the solution - YES". This tells me nothing, besides indicating that it SHOULD work. Similarly, I added just regular Stresses, and the same is occurring with those.

At one point, I had some elements here that were surfaces that I ended up marking fixed supports. I believe that was the point this started happening at. But, I deleted those constraints, and also deleted those elements, and remade them. Looking in the element list, every single element is a line2d, which, is how things were when I WAS getting von mises to calculate properly.

What am I missing? The ONLY other thing I can think of that I've done differently today was I did a merge nodes, where the 2 nodes that merged were in two different components, with two different materials. Might that have somehow thrown a gremlin into my model?

I'm attaching the .liml, because I know that this description alone is probably not enough to get help. Thanks a million to whomever digs htrough my mess to determine what's going on! I've tried all that I can think of.

I feel like a goofball. I just looked at my profile, and realized I ran into exactly this same thing a year ago. I don't see an option to edit or delete my original post (can edit this reply though!). Seems the Stress in Element Coordinates is my main available option in the internal solver. Mods, please feel free to delete this post!
  • Sorry about that. You don't need to feel like a goofball since Mecway makes it very unclear why it's not working. There are quite a lot of reasons each solution variable can not be there and the "What's wrong?" message only identifies two of them, which is confusing. Your post is a reminder that I need to make the message more specific.
