Importing STEP and stl

I’m thinking of buying a license for analysis of parts created in Alibre. Does MW import stp and stl files without a lot of issues? What are your experiences?

How does MW handle assemblies if at all?

    It does all those things (STEP, STL, assemblies) but there can be difficulties.

    Assemblies in particular are inconvenient because you usually have to split them up into separate STEP files, or possibly combine them as a single "thing" (not sure of the terminology).

    Avoid STL because face selections and other things are non-associative so whenever you remesh it, you have to re-select the faces for boundary conditions.

    I use Alibre Atom3D and have had great success.
