Gmsh v 4.2.1 fails

I just tried Gmsh v 4.2.1 (latest release) and it fails with an error "adjacent nullptrs found". I have been using v 4.1.5 successfully, but this new version doesn't appear to work. Has anyone else experienced this or tried the new version with success?

  • Anyone? Is it expected that gmsh v4.2.1 should work OK with Mecway?
  • ¿Have you been able to mesh the geometry directly from Gmsh?
I have experience some issues with the last versions of Gmsh that nothing had to do with Mecway.
  • For the most part, yes, gmsh 4.2.1 works OK separate from Mecway, although I am not an expert in all of it's variables.
When I try to create a mesh in Mecway using gmsh, checking the box "determine element size from curvature" and mesh a simple bar with a hole in it (step solid), v4.1.5 works fine, but v4.2.1 hangs with the error I mentioned above. No other differences that I can determine.
  • I'm also interested if anyone has successfully created unstructured automatic 3D hexahedral meshes in Mecway, using any of the available meshes? I am just interested in if it can be done. There is something called Hextreme that supposedly was going to be introduced into gmsh, but I don't know if that's happened yet.
