possible node selection bug

See the attached image showing the information of the selected node. As you can see there is no node highlighted on the visible surface. If I then rotate the model the highlighted node is visible and is within the solid mesh.
I was under the impression that by setting the view as I have (clicking the X axis arrow), I should only be able to select nodes on visible surface.
Is this supposed to happen or is it a bug?

    That does indeed look like a bug. Thanks for reporting it. I'm able to reproduce it using the files you sent me for a previous issue.
