Neuber stress correction

Starting from last posts, incentring to NL analyses, is well known that NL analyses with NL geometries and NL materials could be very time expensive, above all for huge model.
Generally before perform NL analysis is good practice to perform linear analysis to check the model quality.
For small strains and for localized stress concentration a good approximation (or orientative results) could be obtained correcting the peack stress with Neuber Method.
Is an insane idea to correct the stress plot applyng Neuber Method?

LE analysis --> RO material curve --> correction of stress Neuber Method

It could be useful to accelerate calculus time above all for fatigue analysis or for having and idea of the stress field without perform NL analysis

  • I don't know much about this method so it's hard to say at the moment. I've added it to my list but it seems like low priority. Version 8 should have a formula function in the postprocessor which might enable you to set this up yourself from the looks of it.
