Can't seem to add a hole

Morning all,

I'm just getting back into Mecway and doing some more basics. Using the built in modelling to create a flat plate, and a hole. When I try and use the hole function I get all sorts of errors, can't find face normal, doesn't like it when I chose the axis, is there a process to go through prior to putting in the hole?

    The hole tool isn't very smart so you can't use it quite as freely as in CAD. There's no special process other than selecting a node and using the tool. But the node you select should be part of the surface of a solid or shell, not interior to a solid and not disconnected from the mesh.

    If that doesn't help, can you show an example and what the error message or failure was?

    Hi Victor, thanks for coming back to me.

    I'll give it a go, might be that i need to find a node closest to the dimensions I need and edit it's position slightly.
